Welcome to my new weekly feature- Find of the Week! This comes naturally out of my love obsession with collecting things: dishes, glassware, buttons, fabric, cookbooks and tons and tons of cooking/baking equipment. I collect things new and old, but really, the vintage stuff gives me the most joy, especially when the find is is great condition.
My collecting has multiplied tenfold thanks to this blog. Cute vintage props make food photography so much more fun and unique, so I’m out shopping on a regular basis. But I don’t like spending a lot, so I scour thrift shops, yard sales, and flea markets to find great deals.
This lovely bundt pan was an awesome find at $3. I found it in a thrift store and knew that I had struck gold copper when I walked into the store and spotted a stack of shiny pans. This cake pan was the winner of the bunch. Okay, it’s not really copper but painted aluminum, but aluminum conducts heat well so it’s a great medium for cake pans. But mostly, I love the pretty petite shape which is not quite 6 inches tall and holds 8 cups of batter, a fact that is conveniently etched into the pan. Otherwise, it’s unmarked but looks like a Mirro pan.
Now I need to make a cake! But that will have to wait because this morning I’m headed to the Berryville Downtown Yard Sales, that is if the rainy weather holds off! Cross your fingers for me!
Now a question for my wonderful readers: What are you collecting? Tell me in the comments below.
Happy Hunting!

Great Blog & I’m passing it on to friends. I’m 65 and this pan was a moouse or Jell-O mold which were very popular when I was young. It’s funny, the English still love their Jelly’s (Jell-O) at the holidays. I don’t know if this will work as a cake/bundt pan, would love to know how it turns out.
I have about 6 heavy copper molds I have kept, we used to decorate our kitchens with them & they looked pretty all grouped together. Just last year I read an article about their return…we’ll see.
Thank you again for your lovely blog.
