I’ve teamed up with a group of awesome food bloggers to bring you the Thrive at Five Meal Plan- Week 7. We want to help you get homemade dinners on the table, so each Friday we’ll be doing a roundup of recipes to help you plan your weekly dinners…and maybe a few snacks too!
For the Thrive at Five Meal Plan- Week 7 we’ve included mostly healthy recipes with the New Year in mind. I’m looking forward to trying Erin’s frittata with some leftover ham from the holidays and Carrie’s old fashioned icebox cookies sound right up my alley. And Tania’s salmon looks like a lovely recipe for a Friday night date night in!
What’s happening at Vintage Kitty HQ? We are recovering from Christmas…. literally! Instead of just sharing love and laughter this Christmas, the Long family shared a stomach bug. Kevin’s dad started to feel sick early in the day, and by Christmas night two more had fallen ill….By the time we got home Monday evening, I was starting to feel the effects. I am in semi-recovery but not much of an appetite, so no new recipes yet…
But before we all started getting sick we had a wonderful time together. Christmas Eve we had a meal of persimmon salad and chowder (both corn and clam) and had our yearly secret Santa book exchange. Christmas day was a laid back affair with egg casserole and leisurely gift opening in the morning, naps in the afternoon and a simple dinner with ham, potato salad and veggies.
Kevin is still not feeling well, so I think New Years will be rather quiet for us. Since I’m not quite back in the kitchen yet, I’ve been doing some editorial planning for the new year and setting some goals to make 2017 a successful year for the blog. Also thinking about personal goals…
What are your goals for the New Year? Having a soiree on New Years Eve or a traditional New Years Day feast? I want to live vicariously through you as I stream way too much TV while I recover…so please share your holidays with us here at Vintage Kitty! Leave a comment below or find us on Facebook @vintagekittycom, Twitter @the VintageKitty and Instagram @vintagekittyblog.
If you have a moment please share this Thrive at Five Meal Plan- Week 7 post with your friends and family. I’m sure they would love some recipe inspiration!
Happy New Year!
